1. At least the WRX only looks a bit singed.

2. Nobody’s going to miss either the Journey or the Altima

3. This is why I try to park away from everyone. It might not prevent everything, but I’ll increase my odds any way possible.

No joke, on my way home this afternoon, I stopped to get gas. As I’m leaving the station, a red honda civic coupe comes barreling up the off-ramp and into the gas station parking lot WHILE ON FIRE. Smoke was billowing out of everywhere and it was that gray/black smoke like an oil or fuel fire. I nope d out of there and I think everything is fine. But damn......some people just don’t think.

In their defense, thinking clearly while your car is on fire can be somewhat difficult.

Hot sale at the mall.

Lucky the Corolla wasn’t one spot over ; backing in means it’s gas tank was right there. That would have been an explosive story.

The Altima and Journey are for sure destroyed. The Pathfinder is borderline, I’d say. I will agree though  that this is a rare time that the news is under selling a story.

In that pic I’d expect only two are totaled.

I took this pic at work in 2018.

Luckily someone in the break room saw smoke and everyone parked near the truck was able to move their vehicles before all hell broke loose.

From the first picture I assumed this started by an idiot putting black on red when trying to jump started another car.

Also yes thank god the bug eye is okay.

“Oh no! My car is on fire! I KNOW, I’ LL DRIVE IT TO THE GAS STATION!” is likely to NOT be my first thought when my car is on fire. And off that exit, the gas station was on the right and the fire station was on the left. So it almost ended up as a win.

I’m assuming all they were thinking at the time was “I gotta park somewhere and get out”, and the gas station was the first thing they saw. It may not have even registered to them that it was a gas station. But yeah, they should’ve thought it through more.

Dumb move, but to be fair, if I were in u rgent need of an extinguisher, I know there are bunches next to the gas pumps. The problem is that you then have to drive to the gas pumps while on fire. Maybe stay at the very edge of the lot and run for it.
